Man Mowing Lawn Killed By Car In Pacolet (Spartanburg Herald-Journal)A retired Spartanburg County sheriff s deputy was killed while riding his lawn mower in his yard Tuesday.The crash killed Steve Spears of 1291 N. Highway 150, said Spartanburg County coroner s investigator Ken Toney. Toney said it appeared a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed lost control and hit Mr. Spears.
